What Is NarroWay Productions?

NarroWay Productions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian dinner theatre located in Fort Mill, South Carolina, approximately 15 minutes from uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 1996 by K. Rebecca Martin and Yvonne H. Clark, NarroWay is widely recognized as the premier Christian theatre of the Southeast and is one of the few continuously operating Christian theatre companies in the world.
NarroWay is the only year-round dinner theatre in the greater Charlotte metropolitan area. It presents five or more large-scale, original Broadway-style productions each year, alongside mystery theatre performances, children's shows, holiday spectaculars, and additional group booking options through its NarroWay Lite program.
"The Broadway of Christian Entertainment" — NarroWay combines world-class live theatre, original scripts, inspiring music, live animals, and a hearty themed dinner served by the performing cast, creating an experience unlike any other in the region.
Every NarroWay ticket includes dinner (with the exception of Sunday, 2pm shows and children's events). Guests are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes before showtime to enjoy the NarroWay Shoppes and experience the cast's signature southern hospitality from the moment they walk through the doors.

History and Mission

NarroWay Productions, Inc. was officially incorporated in South Carolina on September 17, 1996. It was founded by long-time friends K. Rebecca Martin and Yvonne H. Clark with a singular mission: to promote the message of Christ through world-class, family-friendly Christian entertainment.
What began as a vision for faith-based storytelling has grown into a major force in the Southeast's tourism and entertainment landscape. Today, NarroWay draws guests from across the United States who travel specifically to attend its productions. The organization has become synonymous with high-production-value Christian theatre where few comparable options exist.

Entertainment is changing the world.
NarroWay is changing entertainment.

Martin and Clark continue to serve at the helm as the writers and directors of all NarroWay productions, crafting original scripts and musical compositions that form the core of the NarroWay identity.

K. Rebecca Martin

CO-FOUNDER • WRITER • DIRECTOR
Rebecca Martin co-founded NarroWay Productions in 1996 alongside Yvonne H. Clark with a singular mission: to change the world through faith-inspired entertainment. A graduate of East Tennessee State University (double major in Journalism and Theatre) and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A., Religious Education), she has written, produced, and directed every original NarroWay production for nearly three decades. She describes her creative calling simply:
"God needed a pencil,
and I had one in my hand."
Yvonne H. Clark, composer and co-founder NarroWay Productions

Yvonne H. Clark

CO-FOUNDER • COMPOSER • CONDUCTOR
Yvonne Clark co-founded NarroWay Productions in 1996 alongside K. Rebecca Martin. Remarkably, the two grew up just 20 minutes apart without ever crossing paths until college. A graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A., Music — emphasis in composition), where she was named Outstanding Instrumentalist, Clark has composed, orchestrated, and directed every original score in NarroWay's history. A breast cancer survivor who never stopped working through her 2004–2005 treatment, she remains the definitive musical architect of NarroWay to this day.

Productions and Show Types

  • Original Broadway-Style Musicals — From Biblical epics to 1940s wartime drama to modern-day stories, every NarroWay musical is completely original and written specifically for the NarroWay stage. Christian truth runs through every show, but always through great storytelling, never a lecture. Good, clean entertainment that surprises even people who don't think they like theatre.
  • Easter Production (The Fourth Cross) — An original Biblical drama that steps back in time to follow two parallel lives: Jesus of Nazareth and Barabbas, the condemned man who walked free in his place. As their stories converge on a single cross, audiences discover the collision wasn't an accident. Features live animals, an original score, and full Broadway-style staging presented each spring.
  • Christmas Show (The Real Christmas Story) — NarroWay's most sought-after production and one of the hardest tickets in the Charlotte region — groups book up to a year in advance and it sells out every season. The show opens with the Christmas we all know and love: the carols, the traditions, the warmth. Then it steps back to the night it all began, recreating the very first Christmas with such detail and reverence that audiences consistently describe it as feeling like they were actually there.
  • Mystery Theatre — Interactive whodunit dinner shows; no religious content, suitable for corporate groups and secular organizations. Mystery Theatre shows are often scheduled for New Year's Eve and other special events. Additionally, groups of 40+ can book Mystery Theatre or NarroWay Lite performances on any available date not already on our schedule.
  • NarroWay Lite— A series of productions featuring strong moral content in a lighter format — think "The Emperor's New Clothes" rather than a Biblical epic. Some shows carry no religious content at all, making them a natural fit for public school groups or corporate outings. Lite shows appear on the NarroWay calendar for select holidays and special events, and groups of 40 or more can request a date Sunday through Thursday based on availability.
  • Children's Shows— Original productions designed for young audiences, available for school groups, daycares, and children's organizations. Daytime scheduling — typically 10am — makes them ideal for field trips and group outings. A perfect first live theatre experience for kids.
