Easter Show Dates Selling Out Fast
Several dates for 7-week run of "The Fourth Cross" sold out
FORT MILL, S.C. - February 28, 2017 - "The Fourth Cross" takes the stage at the NarroWay Theatre for the Easter season on March 4, and many dates are already sold out. The show has a 7-week run through April 15, with performances every Friday and Saturday along with Sunday, April 9 and Thursday, April 13. These 12pm Saturday matinee dates are already sold out: March 4, 18, 25; April 1, 8. Tickets are still available for other performance dates and can be purchased online or by calling 803.802.2300.
"This is the first time we have exclusively featured this show for the Easter season," says theatre manager Lora McCoy. "We are getting an overwhelming response. It's the kind of show people are looking for this time of year, but with a whole different twist!"
As might be expected of an Easter show, "The Fourth Cross" tells the story of Christ's resurrection. But writer Rebecca Martin adds a unique, creative element into the storyline by following not only the life of Jesus, but also the life of Barabbas, the man set free when Christ was condemned. Martin says that creative element, "Makes the story real. Barabbas isn't just a name anymore - he's a real man, someone with whom the audience can identify."
A cast of more than 90 people take the stage in this one-of-a-kind NarroWay original. Live animals and first-century costumes add to the show's authenticity. Two casts perform the show on alternating weekends, with a total of nearly 200 people involved in the full production.
"The Fourth Cross" first premiered at NarroWay in 2008. Since that time, the show has played in various schedules, but never exclusively for the Easter season. The decision to re-brand the show as NarroWay's Easter production was, by all appearances, a positive move. "We've never had this many Easter show dates sold out this far in advance," notes McCoy. "The magnitude and reputation of the show, coupled with the timing, make this the ideal experience for people."
Despite the number of dates already sold out, there is still ample opportunity to see the "The Fourth Cross." Performances are open every Friday at 6:30pm beginning March 17 through April 15. While most Saturday matinee shows are near capacity, availability still exists for 5pm Saturday shows. And NarroWay has added a Sunday matinee and Thursday night performance the week prior to Easter. Tickets are available onlne at narroway.net or by calling 803.802.2300. The NarroWay Theatre is conveniently located at I-77 Exit 90, just minutes from Charlotte.
