Registration Opens for Summer Camps
Three Eight-Day Sessions Provide Unique Opportunities
FORT MILL, S.C. - March 14, 2017 - Registration is open for the 2017 season of summer theater camps at NarroWay Productions. Providing a unique, faith-based opportunity for students in York County and the greater Charlotte area, NarroWay's Summer "Spotlight Camps" are available for students entering grades one through eight. Three 8-day sessions are offered June 12 through August 2 at the NarroWay Theatre in Fort Mill, SC. Parents may register students online now through July 15, or until maximum enrollment is reached.
NarroWay's day camps include program activities from 9am until 4pm, Monday through Friday. Campers receive basic instruction in acting, singing, dancing and other theatrical techniques while putting together a mini-musical production. Fun games, crafts and devotionals round out daily activities.
"It's a great opportunity to explore new talents in a Christian environment," says Camp Director Lindsey Phillips. "Theater teaches so many valuable lessons. Summer camp provides an excellent platform to build self-confidence and develop social skills that translate to every area of life."
Now in its second year, NarroWay's summer camp program features three different mini-musical productions. "Last year, we found that a lot of our kids wanted to come back for later sessions, but we repeated musicals," notes Phillips. "Now, those who want can attend all three sessions and have new content."
Musicals were chosen from works by Little Big Stuff Music, a Nashville-based publisher of high-quality musicals for kids. Each work revolves around a faith-based theme in various settings. "The shows are fun for the kids and have a great message," says Phillips.
The first camp session for 2017 runs June 12-21 and features the musical "Jonah's Druthers." Other camp dates include July 10-19 with "Happily Forever After" and July 24 thru August 2 with "The Prodigal Clown." Performance dates include June 21, July 19 and August 2 at 6:30pm. Each camp performance date is open to the public at no charge.
The "Spotlight" theater camp is reasonably priced at $225 per camper. A discount is provided for students enrolling in all three sessions.
