FORT MILL, S.C. - March 6, 2017 - "The Fourth Cross" opened Saturday, March 4, to a sell-out crowd at the NarroWay Theatre. More than 320 guests filled seats for the 12pm show. Another 250 were in attendance at Saturday's evening performance. The show continues its run with weekend performances through the Easter season, closing on Saturday, April 15. Nearly 100 actors bring the show to life, along with a host of live animals. NarroWay features two alternating casts with a total of more than 200 people involved in the full production of "The Fourth Cross." Sheba the camel takes the stage in each performance, along with a variety of animals native to biblical times.
Written by NarroWay founders Rebecca Martin and Yvonne Clark, "The Fourth Cross" is a full-length Broadway-style show with original music scoring. It culminates with a moving, signature song by the same title.
The setting is first century A.D. With a highly creative, yet authentic approach, the story line follows not only the life of Jesus of Nazareth, but also that of Jesus Barabbas. According to scripture, Barabbas was a Jewish prisoner of Rome chosen by the crowd to be set free when Jesus was condemned to crucifixion.
As with all Broadway-style shows at NarroWay, "The Fourth Cross" includes a delicious meal themed like the show. This show is complimented by an authentic biblical meal with boneless beef short ribs in white pepper sauce, fresh roasted vegetables, couscous with dried cranberries, Mediterranean herb bread brushed with olive oil and homemade bread pudding with sour cream and cherry sauce. A kid-size portion is available for younger guests, substituting corn on the cob for roasted vegetables.
"The Fourth Cross" plays through April 15 at the NarroWay Theatre with performance times on Fridays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at both 12pm and 5pm. Additional opportunities include Sunday, April 9 at 3pm and Thursday, April 13 at 6:30pm. Reservations are required at least one day in advance for dinner. More information on the show can be found on the NarroWay website.
